Morobe Mission Directors Collaborate to Deliver Two‑Week Leadership Training in Markham

Departmental Directors of the Morobe Mission are collaboratively facilitating a two‑week integrated leadership training programme for church leaders from Markham Districts 1 and 2, running from 18–28 May at Zumangurun.

The initiative brings together multiple departments in a coordinated effort to strengthen local church leadership and promote an Integrated Ministry for Mission approach. Through this collaborative model, departmental leaders are equipping pastors, coordinators, and lay leaders with practical skills and spiritual insight relevant to their respective ministries.

Leading the programme, the Health Director is conducting a full two‑week “Ten Thousand Toes” health training, equipping participants with vital knowledge and practical tools for community health outreach and lifestyle education.

At the same time, the Youth and Family Life Director, Pastor Koe Nahe, is facilitating focused training sessions for Adventist Youth Ministries (AYM) and Family Life coordinators, alongside local church leaders. His sessions are scheduled from 19–21 May, addressing key issues related to youth empowerment, family strengthening, and effective ministry at the local church level.

Adding to the integrated training, the Sabbath School and Personal Ministries Director is conducting sessions on Sabbath School leadership and Personal Ministries, helping leaders to revitalise discipleship, Bible study, and community engagement within their churches.

The programme has also been spiritually enriched by the active involvement of the Morobe Mission President, who is leading night worship sessions and sharing missional messages throughout the training period. His presence has encouraged participants to remain mission‑focused and spiritually grounded as they serve in their respective districts.

Further strengthening the programme, the Stewardship Director, Pastor Enoch Kitum, is scheduled to join the training team on 27 and 28 May, where he will conduct stewardship sessions aimed at deepening faithfulness, accountability, and resource management among church leaders.

According to the departmental directors, this collaborative training model reflects the Mission’s commitment to working together across departments to build strong, effective, and spiritually mature local churches. They expressed appreciation for the positive response from participants and reaffirmed their intention to continue conducting similar integrated departmental trainings in the future.

The two‑week programme will conclude on 28 May, with leaders returning to their districts better equipped to serve, lead, and advance the mission of the Church in their communities.
