TWENTY people were baptised recently at an evangelistic meeting orgnaised by the Gurako Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Huon Gulf District, Morobe.
When the province went into a lockdown due to COV- ID-19, the church conducted the meeting from October 31 to November 13.
At the end of the meeting the 20 were baptised.
More people responded to the appeal after the baptism.
Among them were people who had left the church for more than 10 years. They made commitments to return to church.
A Lutheran church leader also responded to the appeal for baptism in future. He was there to witness his nephew’s baptism.
According to records, this year’s baptism figure exceeded the previous year’s.
