Six candidates were baptized by Pastor Kennedy Wai on the Sabbath to mark the closing of the two weeks of evangelism in Wampit yesterday.
Six females and a male were baptized by the Stewardship and Family Life Director for Morobe Mission, Pastor Kennedy Wai, winding down the two weeks of evangelism in Wampit.
Potsi church pastor, Minister Simon Maiwan, said that Total Members Involvement (TMI) programs were also carried out by the campers as community services for the community. “Seventeen broken down sewing machines belonging to the villagers were brought to us, and we fixed them all,” said Min. Maiwan. “Along with four generators by our small engine repair team,” he added. A toilet was also built for the Wampit Primary School by the campers, with seven bales of second hand clothes distributed among the villagers.
A total of seven bales of second hand clothes were distributed during the two weeks of evangelism. Community members including the Lutheran community, Lutheran Renewal, primary school teachers all received a bales of clothes respectively. The small Adventist church of Mare also received a bale and the others three bales being given out to the needy.
In similar news, Busanim Creek Adventist Church also baptizes seven candidates on the occasion of Church Organizing. The church being established in 1998 by fellow church members of 10mile church was finally released to stand on its own after nine years of nurturing.
The occasion was also attended by Morobe Mission President, Pastor Blasius Managos, Morobe Mission General Secretary, Pastor Kua Nungai, Morobe Mission Communications Director Pastor Jonathan Wera, Morobe Mission Youth Director and Associate Pastor of Busanim Creek Church, Pastor Micah Akui and Lae District Director, Minister Charles Paul.
